Welcome!

Welcome!

I am Wes Huntington, the communications specialist at Crossroads Lutheran Campus Ministry, ELCA at Minnesota State University, Mankato for the 2015-16 academic year. I also live here, so I have to maintain and keep Crossroads welcoming for everyone! Whenever I am doing the Communications stuff, I will try and maintain this blog.  It may migrate from Blogger to WordPress in the near future, but for now, let's just try and focus on getting the blog established first.  Don't worry, fellow readers, you will be informed of when we will migrate this blog to WordPress.

Anyway, let's make this as simple, and to the point as possible. I am here to inform you of what was going on during the week at Crossroads - to within reason, of course.

On Monday, Sept. 21, we had ManDate again, and this time we did not have a movie going, unlike the week before. Connor, myself, Paige, Jack, Katie, Jonathan, and Nathan all played Doctor Who Monopoly. Even after playing it, I still do not understand what Doctor Who is.

Tuesday, Sept. 22, we had a walking taco Lunch for $1. According to attendance numbers, we had 99 people show up during those two hours eating the fabulous lunch that a men's group from Good Shepherd in Wells had prepared for the community. They even set up an additional table and chairs for people to enjoy the lunch.  That was darn nice of them!  We hope we get them back too, as their community lunch was provided through a grant with Thrivent Financial.

On Wednesday, Sept. 23, we had our weekly worship.  Led by our worship leader Katie, we sang songs, and we had an encouraging message about forgiveness from Pastor Tammy.  I'm sure most of us were affected by the powerful message.

Sunday, Sept. 27, we had our weekly $1 Dinner and Discussion.  I, Wes, made the awesome food. It was a cheeseburger casserole dish so yummy you wouldn't need ketchup for it.  We ended up talking about a lot of things regarding how we can utilize your faith when talking about it.

We have a lot of things planned, so stay tuned to your emails!  In the first week of October we are planning on having our chili feed for Homecoming again, and hopefully having numerous people helping us out!
