Homecoming Week...
Greetings!
Welcome to the Crossroads Blog, and I am Wes Huntington, the Communications Specialist for Crossroads during this academic year. I am pleased that you are reading this blog and I'm glad to have written it for you to read. Please, don't hesitate to comment, and please, please come to me with suggestions. I only have ideas that go so far, and if you have an idea for a blog post, please don't hesitate and contact me.
I want this to be the best blog around, and you reading this gets traffic reported back to Blogger. As of this writing there are approximately 160 page views. It's a start. Keep it coming and keep sharing it with your friends, co-workers, family. The more views we can get, the more people we can reach, and in turn, more support for Crossroads! Keep it up. I'm aiming for every Thursday there will be a new post for you to read.
Anyway, let's get into the meat and potatoes of this week's post. This is Homecoming Week here at Minnesota State University, Mankato, and as such, many of us are stressing out about exams, quizzes, papers as it is also midterms for many classes and for many students. As such, we are all stressing about these things, and it is putting a strain on us.
With Homecoming here at MSU, it is time for our annual chili feed here at Crossroads. Last year, we had temperatures between 45-50 degrees with winds between 15 to 25 mph out of the northwest. It was a chilly October day and it was perfect weather for chili. This year, it's a lot different. It's forecasted to be between 73 and 75 degrees with warm southwest breezes at 15 to 25 mph. It seems to be an unusual warm day for chili.
So, please come to the Chili Feed on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Crossroads. You can bring in $3 and you can get a bowl of chili. There will be plenty of options for people. Come on by! You can go to the Chili Feed and then go to the Homecoming game at 2 p.m. as the Mavericks will kickoff against Augustana.
Have a great rest of the week. Have a safe Homecoming. Until next Thursday, this is Wes Huntington signing off. Go Mavericks!
Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
